I remember my first film camera. It was 2017 and I was a 20 something year old living in Paris, France when I purchased my canon ae-1! I fell in love with film. The grain, the sound of the shutter, the film advancing and the intention behind each image. With film you don’t just click away, you take a moment, find your composition, adjust your settings and then take the photo. It makes you slow down and really be present. Aside from the stunning colors and the grain, film photography is even more than that, it’s really truly capturing a moment.
My love for Super 8 followed not long after. I picked up my first super 8 camera on leboncoin (basically France’s craigslist) and began capturing life, living on a small French island, my honeymoon, becoming a mom, baby rolling, baby crawling to baby walking. There’s just something so special about Super 8. It is one of my favorite mediums for documenting life.
Which brings us to Lenny Shoots Film. I started capturing weddings and couples on film in 2021. My favorite thing is capturing people on film (either Super 8 or 35mm or both!). I love photographing people as they are, in their element. I’d love to photograph or create a film for you, your family. your brand or your love story!
